About
Over the years, I’ve described myself in many different ways, but, perhaps the most succinct (and, arguably, as a result, most accurate) descriptor I’ve come up with, is, as follows:
I’m a computer geek and science nerd who happens to take mediocre photographs on occasion and has delusions of being a writer.
That is me, in a nutshell, more or less.
Of course, I am more than a single sentence.
My name (if you haven’t guessed already), is Lewis, I’m presently 25 years old, and I currently live in Brighton, on the South East Coast of England.
If online Myer-Briggs tests are to be believed, I am an ISTJ (Introverted, Sensing, Thinking, Judging), I live predominantly in the left side of my brain, chiefly doing photography (and writing), to exercise the right side of my brain, so it doesn’t atrophy.
Among my beliefs and personal philosophies, I have many. I’m an Agnostic Atheist, Secular Humanist, ‘Quantum Determinist‘, Transhumanist and Singularitarian. I’m politically very liberal, and, economically, very socialist (scoring -6,-8 respectively on the political compass). That being said, I tend to be a pragmatist and a realist, if only because, living in the left side of my brain, such positions make the greatest amount of sense to me.
Naturally, I have many interests, Computers, Science, Photography and Writing, as well as interests in Transhumanism, Singularitarianism, and Religion.
On entertainments, I like FPS, RPG, Third Person Shooters/Action Games though I hold no loyalty to a particular console, and I don’t really play games for their bragging rights, mainly because I’m not that good at them, I mainly play games for their storyline, hence, most of my favourite games tend to be heavily story driven, and less about absolute skill.
I enjoy reading (though, I don’t read nearly as much as I like) and watching Science Fiction (you should have guessed that one), and listening to music, chiefly, that in the Electronic Music genres, or you could just visit my last.fm to see what I like to listen to :B
Online, I am perhaps better known as sine-out (or derivatives thereof), I’ve been a member of deviantART.com for a little over six years now, and I’ve been what’s known as a Message Network Administrator (aka, MN@) for almost three years, indeed, most of you reading this right now have probably come from there, so, hi there :B
Overall, I’ve been around, online, for the better part of a decade (which, isn’t that long, all things considered), and this website, in itself, has lived in a variety of guises, including a few failed blog attempts over the years.
The main reason why I’ve decided to try again, is because I’ve learned not to care about the fact that I’m not a ‘special snowflake’, in the sense, that, I’ve learned that while my opinion may not, and probably isn’t, unique, I still want to share it.
As for the rest about me, well, I suppose you’ll learn all about that in the (hopefully) coming blog posts and such like.
