Jumping on the Bandwagon
So, I figure, what with it being the end of the year and all (and, officially, the longest year since 1992, if you didn't know already), I should probably jump on the bandwagon and summarise my year and write out something resembling new years resolutions.
The Summary
Health
It has been good, one of my resolutions was to lose a little weight, and I have, about 45lbs or so. It's not a lot, but it's a start, and I am generally living healthier today than I was a year ago.
Work
Given the current economy, I am just happy I have a job at all, alas, I don't have a job in website development, I did have a job in it, but it really didn't have any job satisfaction (working as a human copy machine is not fun
), this year I aim to have a job 'working with computers' in some fashion or another, to be honest, I don't really care what it is as long as I can do it.
Love
It has been relatively quiet really, I had a blip on the radar around June if my memory serves me (lol, I already know I'm wrong :B), but, aside from that, absolutely nothing.
dA
Well, I'm still here, so that's a good start
.
This year on dA has been awesome, I had my fourth birthday in June, in August was my first year on the MN@, and then in November, I became a Senior MN@.
Naturally, with being a Senior MN@, I also have DD privileges, and I've currently DD'd 22 images.
In all, an awesome year on dA for me.
Art
As many will probably notice, my project, APhotoADay is currently stalled at the 280 image mark, which is about 85 images short of an image a day for this year.
If you couldn't tell, then, APhotoADay has ceased.
In particular, I found I just couldn't keep up with the creative demand (I am just not creative enough to attempt to produce a good image every single day, no matter how much I try to lie to myself).
To be honest, I have no real plans for my art in 2009, it's not so much that I've stopped, it's just that I want to expand into different areas (I actually want to do some fiction writing, for example, something that has been on a back burner for about, well, eight years or so
).
Also, I have learned, through APhAD that the two disciplines of photography I like the most is macro photography, and, surprisingly (maybe) portraiture, my issue is that I lack the confidence to get anyone that I can photograph, and, as a result, I have to resort to photographing myself.
Another reason that 2009 will probably be a slow year for art (in comparison to 2008, at the least), is simply because I actually want to get back into developing websites and applications for fun (yes, fun), this is applicable here because both of those are creative pursuits for me, and as already mentioned, I only have enough creativity in my batteries for so much :B.
I know I've probably forgotten some other vital sections, but, frankly, if I think of them, I add them later.

The Resolutions
- Get a better job, preferably working with computers.
- Lose more weight
- Finish my content management system, and then start some more website development projects.
- Try to expand my artistic horizons past photography and basic photomanipulation
- Importantly, have fun.
There, simple, shouldn't be too difficult :B.
Daily Deviation Suggestions
This is just a short checklist/guideline when you want to make a Daily Deviation suggestion to me.
- I can and will DD any image from any gallery, keep in mind, however, that I am a photographer, which will take top priority (better to pick what you're best at, after all). If you want to suggest anything outside of photography, take a look at my favourites to get a good idea of what I generally like.
- Title the suggestion note with 'DD Suggestion' (or something similar).
- Suggestions with a reason for the suggestion will be considered before suggestions with no reason.
- You mus...
